Breast Revision Surgery

Breast revision surgery is most commonly sought out to correct problems that have arisen from a previous breast augmentation procedure. While there are many reasons for seeking consultation for breast revision, often the reasons fall into one or more of the following categories: implant malposition, asymmetry, implant issues (such as implant rupture, rippling/palpable implants, and capsular contracture), poor scarring, and/or breast pain or, simply, just being unhappy with results of your previous surgery. Fortunately, with proper identification of the problem, combined with expert surgical technique, these problems can usually be corrected during a single, or staged, revision breast surgery.

Since the reasons for breast surgery revision are so varied and individual, the procedure will vary as well. In all cases, we will carefully review the specifics regarding your surgical options for revision and ensure that you understand what your particular procedure will involve.

Dr. Schwartz is a specialist and a nationally recognized expert in breast surgery, which gives him particular expertise in identifying and correcting problems that can arise from breast surgery. During your consultation, you will explain your concerns and go over what your goals are for surgery. Since breast revisions are significantly more complicated than the original surgery, a thorough examination and review of your previous operative reports, is required to identify the cause of the problem. If possible, please bring your previous operative report(s) with you to your consultation, as well as other supporting medical record, if applicable. Our dedicated staff will be happy to assist you with obtaining these records.
Dr. Schwartz will carefully explain his assessment of the problem(s) and discuss with you his recommendations for correction.

Educating and empowering you to make the best, informed decision for yourself is a top priority at the Beverly Hills Breast Institute, and you will be encouraged to take as much time as you need to make your choices, and meeting multiple times before your procedure is always an option. We will discuss your available options in detail until you are completely comfortable with your choices.
